Academic or Psychoeducational Testing
Academic testing evaluates a student’s learning skills, academic strengths, and areas of difficulty. The evaluation can help identify learning differences, clarify the reasons behind academic challenges, and inform recommendations for educational support. Results are often used to guide school-based planning, including eligibility for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, and appropriate classroom accommodations or interventions.
Reasons for Testing
-
A possible learning issue in reading, writing, or math (like dyslexia or a learning disability)
-
To figure out what school accommodations or learning plans the student may need (such as an IEP, 504 plan, or gifted program)
-
Ongoing school struggles or falling behind, even when the student seems capable
-
Lower-than-expected scores on tests or exams
