Neuropsychological Evaluation
Neuropsychological assessments are evaluations focused on understanding how brain functioning affects memory, thinking, behavior, and daily life. These assessments are often used when there are concerns about cognitive changes, neurological conditions, or declines in functioning, and can help clarify what is happening and how best to move forward.
Reasons for Evaluation
Neuropsychological assessments can be helpful in situations such as:

Memory concerns, forgetfulness, or changes in thinking

Cognitive decline or suspected dementia

Neurological conditions or injuries (e.g., stroke, concussion, brain injury)

Changes in attention, language, or problem-solving

Differentiating neurological causes from mood, anxiety, or stress-related cognitive difficulties
What Is Involved?
Can include any/all of the following:

A clinical interview to understand current concerns, symptoms, and background information

Review of relevant medical, psychological, and personal history

Standardized cognitive testing to evaluate areas such as memory, attention, language, and executive functioning

Assessment of additional cognitive abilities that may affect daily functioning
Feedback session:

This is when we will meet and we will go over the report, the findings, and address any questions.
