Immigration
Psychological immigration evaluations document emotional, behavioral, and psychological factors that may be relevant in immigration proceedings. These evaluations are often used in cases such as hardship waivers, asylum, VAWA, U‑visas, and other petitions.
Reasons for Evaluation
Evaluations can support a variety of immigration cases, including:

Hardship waivers (I‑601, I‑601A)

VAWA petitions for victims of abuse

U‑visa and T‑visa applications for crime or trafficking victims

Asylum or withholding of removal cases

Naturalization waivers (e.g., N‑648)
What Is Involved?
Can include any/all of the following:

A conversation to understand your personal history, experiences, and mental health

Questions about trauma, stress, and emotional well-being

Standardized assessments to measure symptoms like anxiety, depression, or PTSD

Evaluation of daily functioning, coping skills, and resilience

Optional interviews with family members if relevant to the case
